According to DECO PROTeste, as read on Notícias ao Minuto, "when workers are unable to attend work due to adverse weather phenomena, they can justify their absence." Additionally, it clarifies that this absence "cannot result in loss of pay".
The Labor Code states that absences due to reasons beyond the worker's control, such as floods preventing access to public transportation, must be accepted as justified by the employer.
