Are you on vacation but will you be going on sick leave? Learn what you should pay attention to.

According to the president of the Regional Council of Lisbon of the Bar Association, as reported on Notícias ao Minuto, when on vacation but on sick leave, you should consider the places you visit.

This means that João Massano confesses that one of the most common mistakes when a worker is on vacation, but needs to take sick leave is "not telling anything to the employer."

“If the person does not say they are sick, the vacation cannot be suspended. You must inform the employer, since this process is not automatic,” adding that, only after presenting the "documentary evidence of illness, the vacation period is suspended," as stated in the news.

The person in charge also emphasizes that there are differences between vacations and sick leave, so they should be used in different ways, as "one is for recovering from an illness, another is for recovering from the work period, and the person must be fully rested to benefit from this well-deserved rest".
