The median value of houses sold in Portugal in 2024 increased by 10.3% compared to the previous year, reaching 1,777 euros per square meter, according to data released by the National Statistics Institute (INE) in Notícias ao Minuto.
Based on the 151,784 transactions recorded throughout the year, INE indicates that this value represents a growth of 4% compared to the 12-month period ending in September 2024, and of 10.3% compared to 2023.
The regions where the price per square meter exceeded the national average were Greater Lisbon (€2,939 / m2), Algarve (€2,752 / m2), Madeira (€2,395 / m2), Setúbal Peninsula (€2,117 / m2) and Porto Metropolitan Area (€1,986 / m2).
