By doing so, these places will be unavailable for purchase for about 10 minutes.  

During this period, you should take advantage of making your true reservation. In the following moments, the seats blocked in the fictitious reservation will force the system to automatically assign one of the still available seats.

For example: imagine you want a window seat. In the fictitious booking, you should select all available seats on the plane, except for the window seats. Therefore, when you complete your actual booking, the system will automatically assign one of the remaining window seats.

According to the Spanish publication, one of the advantages of this trick is its simplicity and the fact that it does not require advanced technology knowledge. It is accessible to anyone with a computer or mobile phone with internet access.

This method works because airlines program their systems to temporarily block seats that are in the reservation process, allowing customers to take advantage of this feature.
