The Government approved a package of measures dedicated to Employment, focusing on talent retention and support for youth employment.
The measures are divided into different programs, including +Talento and +Emprego, with a program that also helps in the integration of immigrants.
According to Notícias ao Minuto, the measures were announced by the Minister of Labor, Solidarity and Social Security, Maria do Rosário Palma Ramalho, "who considered that although the unemployment rate is declining, it remains higher than the rate recorded in the general population".
So, get to know the announced measures, according to the programs:
Support for Professional Internships: Create 6,500 professional internships for unemployed individuals with greater difficulty in finding employment, especially people up to 35 years old or with disabilities.
Support Grants: The Government intends to create support grants of 65% of the value of internships, lasting six months, and a total of 15,000 internships.
In addition, there will be an "incentive for permanent full-time hiring, with an entry remuneration not less than that of a graduate in the general career of senior technician in the Public Administration, totaling 2,500 contracts".
Financial support for the permanent hiring of unemployed individuals enrolled in IEFP: The measure is intended for individuals who have been unemployed for at least three consecutive months, or who belong to groups facing difficulties in labor market integration. The +Emprego program aims to support 20,000 contracts.
Just as an "incentive for permanent employment, full time, with an initial salary not less than that of a graduate in the general career of senior technician in the Public Administration", for qualified young unemployed individuals, including 2,500 contracts.
This program aims to implement, through a network of partners coordinated by IEFP, measures that reinforce the integration of third-country immigrants. It is aimed at Third-country immigrants registered as unemployed at IEFP.
