The rental market has been competitive, with little supply and high demand: on average, there are 34 families interested for each house rental advertisement.
The data relates to the first quarter of 2024 and indicate that, before the leasing ads were removed, there were an average of 34 contacts.
Although the increase in rent prices in Portugal has been significant - 16.2% in the last year - Idealista, quoted by Notícias ao Minuto, points to the average in question.
However, it notes that "compared to the same period in 2023, the number of contacts per ad decreased by 33%, when they received an average of 51".
"The Portuguese city where ads received the most contacts in the first quarter was Leiria with an average of 48 contacts, followed by Portalegre (45), Santarém (43), Setúbal (41), Faro (40), Évora (36), Braga (35), Bragança (34), Lisbon (33) and Coimbra (30)", as shared in the news, according to Idealista's data.
On the other hand, with an average of 30 contacts per advertisement, "cities of Viseu (29), Vila Real (29), Castelo Branco (28), Aveiro (28) and Viana do Castelo (26)" are highlighted, while "the cities that received the fewest contacts on average were Beja (17), Guarda (20), Funchal (23), Ponta Delgada (25) and Porto (25)", concludes the publication.
